Natural Language Modeling Articles

The following links are articles highlighting modeling issues that are effectively dealt with using Natural Language Modeling. In each article subject matter expert(s) create a true sentence and then answer a series of questions based on the subject area being addressed. The NLM procedure uses the expert's answers to turn any true declarative sentence into instance(s) of valid fact type(s). For brevity all aspects of the examples that are discussed are not wholly defined nor is the complete procedure explained. The NLM analysis technique scales linearly. That means that knowledge is defined only once. Then as the scope of a project expands, previously defined knowledge does not need to be reanalyzed.

The articles address common information modeling problems and the analysis problems are a set of significant examples that can be analyzed to determine the needed elementary sentences and the corresponding tables. Try an analysis problem, fax or e-mail me your solution, and watch for my solution in the next issue of the Journal of Conceptual Modeling.
